To arrange for something to take place at a time later than that first scheduled.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to postpone the workshop.
予期せぬ事態により、私たちはワークショップを延期しなければなりません。
目的語には動名詞(~ing)をとる。「postpone to do」は誤りなので注意。
